The Organising Committee is pleased to advise that Hobart City Mission's Small Steps program has been selected as the official charity partner for the 21st National Family Law Conference.
Small Steps is Hobart City Mission’s live-in parenting support program for young mums under 25 and their children. Featuring 14 supported accommodation units and 24/7 support, the program provides a safe, nurturing environment where young mothers can build confidence, strengthen their parenting skills, and work towards independent living. Individualised support helps families access housing, education, healthcare, life skills development, and vital community services.
Many young mums who come to Small Steps have experienced significant challenges, including homelessness, family violence, trauma, and social isolation. Through round-the-clock support, positive role modelling, and practical assistance, the program helps break cycles of disadvantage and create brighter futures for young families. Small Steps empowers mothers to build resilience, develop healthy relationships, and establish safe, stable homes where both they and their children can thrive.
For those who may wish to make a personal donation, you can do so here. By supporting Small Steps, you are helping ensure vulnerable young mums and their children have access to safe accommodation, practical support, and the opportunity to build a brighter future. Your donation helps Hobart City Mission continue its work in its 174th year, providing vital support to Tasmanians facing hardship and creating lasting change for families when they need it most.
