Pre-Arrival Information

We look forward to welcoming you to Hobart, Tasmania shortly. To assist with your arrival, please see below further information on key areas of the Conference.

ACCOMMODATION

If you have booked accommodation through the Conference Office, any changes to your booking must be managed through the Conference Office by email, not directly with the hotel.

CONFERENCE APP

The Conference app, sponsored by O'Sullivan Davies, will enable you to view the program, read the papers, create your own schedule, communicate with other delegates and participate in interactive sessions.

In the week prior to the Conference you will receive an email with the download instructions and your personalised code to allow you access to the app on your smart device, laptop or desktop. We encourage you to download the app before you arrive at the Conference, create your profile and start planning your participation.

As this is a paperless Conference, you may wish to download copies of the papers ahead of the Conference, as they become available. These can be viewed, emailed to yourself or printed through the link that will be included in the app launch email. You can also view the papers directly within the app.

CONFERENCE CHARITY

In lieu of providing speaker gifts, the National Family Law Conference will make a donation to the Small Steps program run by Hobart City Mission.

Western Australian delegates can track their session attendance onsite at the Conference by scanning themselves in and out of each session they attend using the 'Check-In' area of the Conference app (not by using your phone's camera application). Further details can be found on this within the 'FAQs' section of the app on its launch next week.

To assist with networking, a copy of the delegate list (excluding privacy requests) will be available in the Conference app.

Please note: If you receive an email from a third party offering to sell you the delegate list for Conference, please treat such emails as spam. Do not engage with the sender as they are not legitimate. You should only correspond with the official 21st National Family Law Conference Office, WALDRONSMITH Management and the Family Law Section.

MAKING THE MOST OF YOUR EXPERIENCE

Making the Most of Your Conference Experience

We are thrilled to welcome a record-breaking number of delegates to the 21st National Family Law Conference! Because attendance is so strong this year, seating in the main plenary room will fill up quickly and won't accommodate everyone at once.

To ensure you enjoy a comfortable and seamless experience throughout the event:

  • Plenary Sessions & Overflow Room: If you prefer a bit of extra space to spread out and relax, we highly recommend taking advantage of our dedicated overflow room. It features a full live stream of all main plenary sessions, ensuring you stay fully connected to every presentation in comfort.
  • Enjoy the Atmosphere: Take advantage of the bright, sunny hotel foyers between sessions to recharge, network, or comfortably catch up on emails.
  • Pacing Your Day: With so many colleagues connecting across the venue, we recommend allowing a little extra time when navigating between sessions and meeting areas.
  • Catch Up Anytime: Don't worry about missing a single moment! Recordings of all sessions will be made available post-conference, so you can revisit any presentation at your own pace.

PHOTOGRAPHY

The Conference has engaged the services of a professional photographer who will be capturing images throughout the Conference. These images may be used for marketing purposes by the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia.

These images may also be shared with third-party partners and host organisations for marketing, publicity, and general destination or event promotion, at the discretion of the Law Council of Australia.

Should you have any concerns in this regard or if you do not consent to your image being used for these purposes, please see staff at the Registration and Information Desk.

Please note that the Law Council of Australia does not use images of Judicial Officers or Government Employees in any marketing or communication collateral without prior consent
